Nexis Wellness Now Open to Wellness Practices and Agencies in Northeast Ohio
Nexis Medical Offices, Cleveland’s first and only co-working space specifically designed for behavioral health practitioners, today announced the business’ rebrand to Nexis Wellness. The comprehensive rebrand elevates the Member focus beyond behavioral health to include functional medicine doctors, dieticians and nutritionists, alternative/complementary practitioners, agencies and non-profits. It also includes a new logo, positioning and website.
“We took this opportunity to rethink not just our name, but our entire Membership focus. We are proud to be ahead of the curve in a rapidly growing industry, and our new brand identity will now illustrate our focus on the mind and body,” says Founder and CEO, Scott Zimmerman.
After spending 18 months recovering from a concussion, Zimmerman experienced first-hand the benefits offered by a cross-functional approach to health and wellness. It was only after working with functional medicine, behavioral health, and alternative medicines like acupuncture, that he truly recovered. “It was terribly difficult to navigate between the disparate disciplines to get the care I needed. I want to take what we started with behavioral health and expand to support both mind and body wellness by creating a truly interdisciplinary community of independent practitioners and agencies – a destination for individuals to get the care they need.”
Nexis Wellness’ new branding further enables the company to stand out, not only within Cleveland’s ever-growing co-working segment, but also within the Cleveland healthcare ecosystem. Health and wellness practitioners enjoy the flexibility Membership offers whether they want a dedicated full-time office alongside other practitioners, or no minimum usage agreements with no long-term contacts for office space, treatment rooms and group meeting rooms.
“Many of our Members come to us looking to either start, grow or wind down their practices. We happily take on the burden of managing their office space, allowing them to maintain ownership of their practice and focus on seeing patients. Our shared and private wellness rooms allow our Members to reduce overhead costs and commitments while offering the flexibility not found with traditional leases. Members pay for space only when they use it,” says Zimmerman.
Membership also means working in a collaborative, safe environment with other like-minded, independent practitioners and agencies. Members can grow their network to help with referrals and collaborate with their neighbors if there is concern over a client’s emotional or physical health.
Beyond the traditional office space with a desk and chairs, Nexis Wellness’ treatment rooms are specifically designed with couches, love seats and arm chairs, while some come with massage tables and storage for sheets and towels.
“We partnered with Nexis Medical Offices a year ago, in large part, because of how easy, quick and affordable they made it to expand our counseling and victim advocacy services to Beachwood. Since then, the number of clients choosing that location has exceeded our expectations. Nexis helped us achieve our goal to support more sexual assault survivors in more places. We are excited to continue partnering with them to help even more survivors on their road to recovery and overall health,” says Sondra Miller, President & CEO of Cleveland Rape Crisis Center.
Nexis Medical Offices was launched by Zimmerman in 2016, making it one of the first behavioral health focused co-working spaces in the United States. During his time working as a consultant and corporate real estate expert in London, he observed that while medical professionals utilized medical facilities for procedures, they used more affordable shared office space for consultations. This split-space concept made good business sense to Scott, since the cost of using medical space is higher than office space. He decided to bring this concept back home and uses his management consulting background, which was built around cost control and efficiency, to determine how to do things less expensively.
Zimmerman helps his Members run more successful practices by giving them access to a network of preferred partners ready to help with electronic medical records, administration, legal, marketing, business strategy and practice management needs. His offices use HIPAA-compliant office technology, business, and storage solutions and requires Business Associate Agreements with technology partners help Members meet the high standards HIPAA demands. He can often be found engaging with his Members in one-on-one strategy sessions to help them do even better.
Currently Nexis Wellness is in Signature Square on Chagrin Boulevard and Richmond Road in Beachwood, with plans to grow into Westlake and Lake County in 2019. With its expansion to health and wellness, Nexis Wellness continues Cleveland’s reputation for being at the forefront of healthcare innovation and delivery.
